Privacy Policy — SERP Pixel Share

SERP Pixel Share has no backend. There is no server operated by the developer, no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting. Data about the pages you measure never leaves your computer.

What the extension does

SERP Pixel Share measures the layout of Google search results pages you visit — where each element sits vertically, how much page height it occupies, and how that affects estimated click-through rate. All measurement runs inside your browser.

Data stored on your device

The following is written to Chrome's local extension storage and stays on your machine:

Your settings — owned domains, fold reference, overlay mode, and selected Search Console property.
A scan log of the queries you have measured, including whether an AI Overview appeared, which domains it cited, and your position.
Cached Search Console figures, if you connect that account. Cached entries expire after six hours and the cache is capped.
Calibration coefficients derived from your own data.

None of it is transmitted anywhere. Removing the extension deletes all of it. You can clear the scan log at any time from the Batch tab.

Network requests

If you do not connect Google Search Console, the extension makes no outbound network requests at all.

If you choose to connect Search Console, it contacts only Google's own endpoints:

accounts.google.com — Google's OAuth consent flow, via Chrome's identity API, when you press Connect.
searchconsole.googleapis.com — reads your Search Console performance data.
oauth2.googleapis.com — revokes your token when you press Disconnect.

There are no other destinations. No third-party service receives any data from this extension.

Google Search Console access

The extension requests a single scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly. It is read-only: the extension cannot modify, submit or delete anything in your Search Console properties.

Search Console data is used to display your actual click-through rate beside the extension's estimate, to rebuild click-through rate excluding impressions where an AI Overview appeared, and to calibrate the estimation model against your own results. It is cached locally and is not sent anywhere. Pressing Disconnect revokes the token with Google and clears the local cache.

Permissions, and why each is needed

storage — saves your settings and the local scan log.
activeTab — lets the side panel act on the results page you are viewing when you press Re-scan.
scripting — runs the measurement pass in the page, because pixel positions can only be read after the page renders.
sidePanel — displays the report beside the results page.
tabs — drives one reusable background tab during a batch scan and locates the active results tab.
identity — Google's OAuth flow, used only when you press Connect.
Host access to www.google.com, www.google.co.in and www.google.ae — the results pages being measured. Plus the two Google API hosts listed above.

What is not collected

No personally identifying information.
No browsing history outside Google results pages.
No page content from sites you visit.
No usage analytics, event tracking, or identifiers of any kind.

Children

This is a professional SEO tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated and the change is noted in the extension's changelog. Material changes to what leaves your machine would be announced in the release notes.
